Symphony Hall is a one time collaboration between Riton and Canblaster released on Surkin, Para One and Bobmo’s label, ‘Marble’. They team up under the moniker to release the very special ‘One Night Stand’ EP, which can be heard HERE

A synth-heavy slowjam caught somewhere between dream and reality, the ‘One Night Stand’ video features digital faces projected onto their eyes-closed counterparts, while cinematic cut scenes exploding with color and movement intersperse the action.

This dance floor club mix raises questions of whether the French collaboration will indeed be a one night stand. We certainly hope not.

Swiss born Cyril Hahn is a name you’re going to be hearing a lot more of in the coming months. Heavily championed by the likes of The xx, Annie Mac and Diplo, his excellent bootleg of Destiny’s Child ‘Say My Name’ has already gained over half a million plays on Soundcloud.

Cyril’s recent remix of Solange ‘Losing You’ was just named by i-D Magazine as their ‘Song of The Day’ and is a fine example of just how quickly this man’s career is progressing.

With remix/collaboration offers pouring in, Cyril is sorting through and choosing the projects he believes he will do justice to with his unique touch.

Look out for his next official remix for recording artist Gabrielle Aplin in 2013. Touring is also in his immediate plans having recently signed to the respected Primary Talent International Agency for Europe/Asia & Europe. Watch this space for for dates in early 2013.

Reworking the best R & B classics from back then and right now, check out these two remixes to see what all the fuss is about!

Support inc. A-Trak, Gesaffelstein and Brodinski

It’s only been two years since Mumbai Science appeared on the music radar but they’ve managed to leave an unquestionable impression. Their tracks Ancova, Gold and Lotus got the support from all the big shots such as Boys Noize, Tiga and Brodinski, sending them on a surge to the EDM top ranks. The 2012 release of ‘The Unified Theory Trilogy’ confirmed their musical prowess and now they return to the plate with ‘Unite’, a new beat inspired record.

Touring around the world from Japan to Berlin to the USA, Mumbai Science got more in touch with the history that subsides in the darkest corners of the scene. Their new EP reflects a small gritty club where you have to rely on your ears to navigate. Funky bouncing synths meet a typical Mumbai bass. Shinichi Osawa delivers with a blazing remix, which adds a little more spice to the original!

Last but not least on this release is a remix from Alex Gopher of one of their classic tracks, ‘Lotus’. The unquestionable energy from the original track combined with Gopher’s subtlety results in a track, which is impossible not to dance to.

Brodinski and Manu Barron’s ‘Bromance Records’ have quickly gained an excellent reputation for unearthing and nurturing exceptional new talent alongside dance music legends. Their fifth EP is a fine example of that welcoming the combined forces of Jacques Lu Cont and Monsieur Monsieur to their musical family.

Jacques Lu Cont (aka Stuart Price) needs little introduction. A British electronic musician, composer and producer who is best known for his collaborations with some of the world’s biggest artists (Madonna, The Killers, Scissor Sisters and Kylie). This three-time Grammy winning artist has a number of solo acts as well, including ‘Les Rythmes Digitales’. With this multitude of projects under his belt, Jacques Lu Cont isn’t known to stay in one place for too long.“I get motivated about building things up and then knocking it all down and starting again,” he says with a grin. “Trying to prove it all over, that’s always appealed to me”. It was due to that reason and a chance coincidence, which led to the perfect partnership between label and artist, Stuart explains, “I got to meet Louis when they asked me to play for a Bromance show at Fabric, the night was great and we had a good time. A few months later i was working on a track at the studio thinking it would be cool if only someone like Bromance would like to release it and there in my inbox was a friendly email asking if i wanted to release something on the label! The coincidence was too strong to ignore. They plough their own terrain in dance music and are a genuine spirit to be around.”

Bromance Records is very excited to be releasing this sonic luminary’s newest creation, ‘In The Night’ – a hypnotic track that combines elements of disco with grinding bass lines and pulsating rhythms.

Monsieur Monsieur are talented newcomes Léo Copet and Geoffrey Bougy – two French producers from Reims, a region in France reputed to be the modern epicenter of electro creativity. Together, the two perform DJ sets that mesmerize the crowd, with their unique taste and diverse sound. The duo composed debut track ‘Arym‘ for Bromance #5 – an expansive heavy hitter with ominous, grinding bass lines that pendulates between minimalism and traditional techno.

Bromance : the imprint
Last November, the young gun DJ and parisian techno prince Brodinski and Manu Barron, his manager (and also Savoir Faire, Social Club, Silencio, Wanderlust…co-founder) launched their own label – BROMANCE. And this was the first bromance. “I’ve always loved collaborating with other people, ‘cause I get bored too easily. When working together, my head gets fed all the time, new ideas come flying from all directions. The more projects I’m involved in, the better! With Bromance I’m taking that feeling to the next level”. Brodinski

One of the best wishes of the imprint, one of its most important leitmotivs is to emphasize the musical and cultural variety between two entities that, in the end, defines how much these independent spheres are connected.

Bromance Artwork
One of the others main goals/interests of Bromance is also to highlight the obvious and everlasting link between music and graphic art/design. The first release was already featuring a beautiful artwork by CF and a video for Brodinski’s « Let The Beat Control Your Body » in collaboration with ADZEA.

The video for Brodinski’s “Let The Beat Control Your Body” features a beautifully surreal yet classical acid fried dancing skeleton in collaboration with the French artist Alain Domagala aka ADZEA. Rhythmical waves of music and art that reference the past yet look to the future » Satellite Voices.

Bromance have also collaborated with such talented artists as Hassan Rahim, Leslie David, Viktor Hachmang and Jean André.
For this Bromance #5, we worked with Jonas Delaborde, a french designer.

Jonas Delaborde
His first work was published in 2005 in ‘Politique‘ and ‘Frederic Magazine’. Sometimes inspired and figurative, minimal and geometric, his work has illustrated several album covers. In 2006 he founded ‘Nazi Knife’ with Hendrik Hegray – a magazine dedicated to absurd and psychedelic drawings – and a few years later they launched ‘False Flag’ with Stéphane Prigent. Most recently he went back to one of the magazines responsible for his fame, ‘Frederic Magazine’ as AD. This past couple of years, his works have been shown in several exhibitions including Impressed Galerie Arko (Nevers – 2012) and Studio Romance, La Vitrine (Paris 2011)

“About the Bromance #5 cover, I was inspired by an old cd cover from ‘Les Rythmes Digitales’ that I found in a market in Phnom Penh in 2001. The cover was badly printed on low quality paper, sloppy and folded in two. It was absolutely perfect !” Jonas Delaborde

Gesaffelstein aka Mike Levy stands apart from the current techno scene in Paris. At the moment when techno and dubstep are producing new heroes amongst a handful of French DJs, Levy has chosen a different route for his musical expression. His energizing techno, dark and obsessional, works the dance-floor yet at the same time continues to mine emotional landscapes and powerful atmospheres.

Born in Lyon in 1985 – the year that saw the birth of Chicago House (Marshall Jefferson’s ‘Move Your Body’) and legendary releases by electronic new wave and EBM (Electronic Body Music) artists like ‘No Shuffle’ by Front 242 – it was in fueling his musical references from the 90s that this young French producer infused his dance music and remixes (for Cassius, Lana Del Rey, Moby, Rebotini, ZZT or Boys Noize..) with a particular tension. Inspired by Kraftwerk but also electronic music born from punk and New Wave, Gesaffelstein mixes current techno with cutting rhythms and dissonant tones from pioneers like DAF, Front 242 or Nitzer Ebb; a kind of ‘dance metal’ to borrow the expression coined by British DJ and producer, Trevor Jackson.

July 2012 sees Gesaffelstein releasing a two track EP, ‘Rise Of Depravity’ on Bromance Records, the independent imprint of Brodinski and Manu Barron. Track one ‘Depravity’ rides on twisted keyboards and despotic synths while floor-killer. Track two ‘Belgium’ plays homage to the creative scene in the Belgium where in the 80s and early 90s, new forms of electronic jacking hypnotized crowds.

Once again Belgian techno producers ‘Mumbai Science’ put their mark on today’s dance culture. Known for their club tracks ‘Lotus‘, ‘Gold‘ and more recently their ‘Unified Theory’ trilogy, the duo have proven to be adepts in making high-energy techno. Today, they give away a remix of Andrea Doria’s ‘Bucci Bag’, the notorious club classic from the previous decade. The ‘Mumbai Science’ treatment sounds as trashy and posh as the original track, but with some no nonsense Mumbai attitude. Pure techno extravagance.

Look out for Mumbai Science‘s next single, ‘Unite‘. Released in August on Lektroluv with remixes inc. Harvard Bass and Shinichi Osawa.

The term bass music is all too-often overused to bracket UK music of a certain low-end frequency together. But for 19 year-old xKore (pronounced as ex-core), his diverse productions and already brimming cannon of exquisitely produced music is deserving of a wide spread and eclectic bracket – if you must choose to include him in one, that is. If it’s frenetic, sharply tweaked drum beats and musically reinforced, melodic bass lines you’re after, you can be safe in the knowledge that xKore’s etched his name into uniquely heavy slabs of futurism soaked, contemporary dance floor music. Just ask the likes of Skream & Benga, Dillon Francis, Borgore and many more household names from across electronic music’s leading lights, all of whom have cottoned on to his mean, lean experimental sound.

xKore first burst onto the scene with a free track entitled ‘Hello’ last October (which has now broken the one million mark on UKF). Ever since then (and in the space of just a year and a half) he’s notched up a selection of evolving releases, etching his name into some of the underground’s leading stables and avoiding the’ dubstep-by-numbers’ template that plagues the scene; turning his hand to a range of styles, from his blistering debut EP Domination on Cognition to the Full Russian EP on Buygore, Lazershark EP for GAWA and recent EP Stabs for Inspected.

Things have really started to blossom for the young xKore when his remix of Sub Focus’ ‘Falling Down’ smashed its way to No.1 on the Dubstep Top 100 Chart, and has propelled him to the forefront of the current musical explosion. With forthcoming remixes for the likes of drum and bass veteran Metrik on Viper Recordings, UK urban collective The Foreign Beggars and a full, second release coming up on Inspected, xKore’s grabbing the bull by the horns with intense vigor and galvanized spirit.

As xKore’s sound progresses alongside his formative years, his growing trajectory shows no sign of letting up, as he continues to fuse together the best of all contemporary dancefloor music into his own brand of heavyweight destroyers. The future holds no limits for this titan of ‘bass culture’ – so make sure you don’t sleep on him for one second

www.soundcloud.com/mumbaiscience is the brainchild of Belgian techno-gurus Maarten Elen and Jonas Kiesekoms. Widely supported by artists including Boys Noize, Erol Alkan and fellow Belgians, Soulwax, they are no longer strangers to the scene. Signed to the notorious‘Lektroluv Records’, the duo has released club anthems like Ancova, Gold, Lotusand more recently their ‘Unified Theory’ trilogy.

Now, the duo presents a remarkable new video project in cooperation with www.aooa.tv. The video series, called ’128 Memories Per Minute’, captures instants of their tour life in somewhat epileptic fashion, on the rythm of their own tracks. According to them: “The series is some kind of tour diary, capturing the awesome and less awesome moments on the road. There are no rules to it. We just read in a Psychological research paper that keeping a journal enhances your life and general well-being. We really understand ourselves better now.”

There will be a total of 17 videos in the ’128 Memories Per Minute’ series, which will be released over the remains of 2012. WATCH THIS SPACE.
